Coincidentally, I started the 7 circles using the same course yesterday. Can you clarify the schedule you use? I didn’t follow what you were saying. Thanks!
Of course. So I run my cycles at an accelerated rate meaning I want to complete the entire 7 circles quicker than most. So the idea being if you take your set (for us 1051 puzzles) that’s circle 7. All 1051. Half it for circle 6 for two days. 525 and 526. Half it again for circle 5. 250 250 250 301. Circle 4 would be 125 for 8 days but I go 150-180 ish depending on the course for less days and the final day just is less puzzles. Then circle 3 I try to hit about 80 ish a day. Until complete. If the course is laid out with different number of problems per chapter I try to add up the chapters to around 80 ish. Then instead of going to 40 and then down to 20 a day for circles 2 and 1 respectively I go circle 3, 3 times instead. So I run circles 1, 2 and 3 at the 80 ish problems a day then only jump up at circle 4. This is an accelerated plan. Just faster to get through sets then the de la Maza recommended method. I want the set to be completed much quicker as to really cram those patterns into my brain. If you need a deeper explanation, please join my discord and I can answer any questions. Also take a look at my Rapid Chess Improvement post. It explains the whole 7 Circles Rapid Chess Improvement process.
Got it. Thanks!
